Where are we?

Casa Juliana is located on Playa Junquillal on Pacific coast of Costa Rica, on the western edge of the Nicoya Peninsula, approximately twenty-seven kilometers south of the Tamarindo Airport (40 min.), and 71 kilometers (1 hour-7 min.) from the Liberia International Airport.

Directions:

By Car: From San Jose take the Pan-American Highway north towards Liberia. You get to Casa Juliana taking the Tempisque Bridge. After the village of Limonal, there is a big Shell gas station. Turn left at the gas station and it will lead you to the bridge. After a 20-minute ride, follow the road until it dead ends and turn right towards Nicoya. Follow the signs to Santa Cruz. After the traffic light in Santa Cruz you will pass a metal bridge. Turn left immediatley after the bridge. Foloow the raod for 18km. You pass another metal bridge and turn left again. After apporximately 200 meters, turn right. Follow the road until the small town of Paraiso. After the soccer field, turn left. Go 4km into Junquillal and look for the sign for Casa Juliana. Turn left at the sign and then another left at the next sign.

From Liberia Airport: make a right onto Highway 21 out of the airport. Stay on Highway 21 for about 35 kilometers. Just before the bridge leading into Santa Cruz turn right on to Highway 160 and follow the road for 18 km. You pass another metal bridge and turn left again. Approximately 200 meters after that turn there is a right turn. (keep following signs for Playa Junquillal). Follow the road until the small town of Paraiso. After the soccer field on the right turn left. Continue another 4 km to the old Minniesuper on the right and make a left at the driveway for Casa Juliana and then another left at the Casa Juliana sign into the driveway of the villa. By Bus: Two local bus lines leave San Jose to Santa Cruz. Tralapa and Alfaro. They run on a hourly schedule. The fare is about $5 and it takes approximately 5 hours. There is one Tralapa bus at 2pm with a connection in Santa Cruz to Playa Junquillal. Alternatively, a taxi will bring you to Casa Juliana for approximately $30 in 45 minutes. By Airplane: Sansa flies daily to Tamarindo, 37km north of Junquillal. The fare is $65 per person and a taxi will take you from Tamarindo to Junquillal for approximately $35.
